We study dynamic self-organizing behaviors of single cells and single molecules during early embryo development. By connecting the understanding at the molecule, cellular, and tissue levels, we pin down the physical mechanisms that give rise to collective spatio-temporal patterns that arise from complex interactive networks of cells and molecules through biochemical signals and mechanical forces.
