Status of Quality of Healthcare in East, Central and Southern Africa

The paper highlights the quality of healthcare policy and implementation landscape in East, Central and Southern Africa region. We describe the processes and efforts undertaken by countries in institutionalizing quality of care in health systems and medical education by sharing findings from a rapid assessment conducted among six countries in the region. We also highlight critical gaps and opportunities, and propose recommendations for strengthening quality of healthcare in Africa.
