A native of Sweden, Sofia Carlsson holds an M.A. degree in Literature and Philosophy from Uppsala University. Eager to expand her horizons she has traveled extensively and worked in three different countries before she settled in Michigan. Previously at U-M, she coordinated the Arabic Language Flagship program and the Babtain program at the Department of Near Eastern Studies, identifying opportunities and creating events for students interested in the Arab world. She has also worked at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy supporting the Education Policy Initiative team. At the Program in International and Comparative Studies, Sofia's assignment includes student advising, curriculum and program coordination.
