  • About

Mary Corcoran is Professor of Political Science, Public Policy and Women's Studies. Her research focuses on lawyers’ careers, on how welfare mothers' employment has changed as a result of welfare reform, and on the intergenerational transmission of economic inequality. She is examining the effects of temporary employment on welfare mothers’ long term employment outcomes. A second project examines the links between income, work, and material hardship. A third project examines the sex differences in lawyers’ career trajectories.
