  • Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

  • Location: Language Resource Center (LRC), Mac Classroom, 1500 North Quad 105 South State Street, Central Campus

  • Description:

DiLL is a virtual, digital audio recording software suite installed in the Macintosh classroom of the Language Resource Center. DiLL provides centralized control from which an instructor can assign a lesson prompt, listen and give feedback to students as they speak, either selectively with individual students or with the class as a whole, and then easily access the recorded audio afterward.

We will have a hands-on demonstration of the different kinds of activities that DiLL can be used for, both in a synchronous and asynchronous environment. Knowledgeable faculty who have experience using the software will also be on hand to give some examples of how it can be used, as well as go over some tips on how to structure DiLL activities.

Finally, we will review a custom web interface called Cornichon that allows the instructor to give students contextual feedback on their audio, or students to peer review each other’s recordings via text and audio feedback.
