  • Description:

Jane Wolff, Associate Professor and Director of the Masters Program in Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design will speak on her work with a project called "Dutch Dialogues" in post-Katrina New Orleans.

Dutch Dialogues is a collaboration between the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Washington, DC, the American Planning Association, and Dutch and Louisiana engineers, urban designers, landscape architects, city planners, and soils/hydrology experts. It looks to apply Dutch expertise on living in a subsiding delta to the New Orleans situation. Professor Wolff is particularly suited to explain the Dutch role in New Orleans rebuilding and redesign efforts, having been trained here yet having studied Dutch water management, landscape architecture, flood protection, and urban design while living in The Netherlands.
