Major Projects:

• Current focus areas include learning and research collaboratories, next generation learning management systems, open educational resources (OER), virtual worlds, cyberinfrastructure, and health informatics.
• With a 2008 planning grant from the Hewlett Foundation, Mr Hanss engaged with universities in Ghana and South Africa in developing a Health OER initiative. In October 2008, the partners submitted to the Hewlett Foundation a proposal to design a model for co-creating learning materials for educating healthcare providers in developing countries.
