Student Presentations: Greening of the Plant Operations Regional Vehicular Fleet
The students in “ENVIRON/RCIDIV 391: Sustainability & the Campus” invite you to presentations of their semester-long projects with University staff.
Greening of the Plant Operations Regional Vehicular Fleet
A recent restructuring moved Plant Operations away from a central/zonal shop model to a regional service delivery model, whereby the personnel are closer to the buildings/work. However, many of these personnel are still using full size vehicles, such as GMC Savanna vans, regardless of the need. This project considered all types of vehicles, including but not limited to; push carts, bikes, scooters, powered carts, Segway’s, electric vehicles, trucks and vans etc., and identified those that will meet the needs of the service personnel while simultaneously delivering the least overall impact to the environment.
