University of Michigan's First Annual Bike Week
Bike Ambassadors will be available from 11 am to 2 pm during Bike Week to answer all your questions. Interested in becoming a Bike Ambassador? You can do that too!
What is a Bike Ambassador?
The week of November 5, Bike Ambassadors will be stationed at the pumps and the repair stand to help people learn how to put air in their tires, check their bike chain, tighten their breaks, etc. and so forth. They want to make sure these items aren't just bike furniture, but that people actually know how to use them.
Am I qualified to be a Bike Ambassador?
Yes! So long as you like to bike and know a thing or two about bikes you're qualified. They're not looking for experts here. Just folks who like biking and can help out with basic bike needs.
What is the time commitment?
Very minimal, they promise! There will be a Bike Ambassador information session on Tuesday, October 30 from 6-7pm in 2024 Dana. You can still be an Ambassador if you can't make it to the info session, but they really hope to see you there! Pizza will be served! The Bike Ambassador program will run from 11am-2pm, during Bike Week, November 5-9. You can sign up for as many or as few shifts as you like.
This is a great opportunity to help promote biking on campus. If these products are well used, there's the potential to get more of them and other bike amenities (Bike lanes! Covered parking! Bike racks on buses!...) on campus and in the community.
