  • Description:

This lecture will detail the model of non-uniform complexity that shaped Bronze Age societies across Central and Inner Asia.  Using the metaphor of "epigenetics" we will explore the cultural materials, mechanisms and stimuli that produced local and regional domains of participation between autonomous groups, which - through time - structured the unique institutional framework underpinning ancient Inner Asian 'civilization'.
