Sandra Watts (Spanish) successfully defended her PhD dissertation, “Genre in the Works of Benjamín Jarnés: ‘el género intermedio’,” on Wednesday October 24, 2012 and is a senior lecturer in the Department of Languages and Culture at University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she directs the Language program in Spanish.
Sandra’s dissertation focused on the work of renowned Spanish Avant-Garde author Benjamin Jarnés and was a reflection on one of his great contributions to the Spanish novel, the hybrid genre "genero intermedio”.
Sandra's dissertation chair was Cristina Moreiras-Menor, Professor of Spanish and Department Chair of Romance Languages and Literatures (RLL).
