Elissa specializes in modern literature in French. She holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University; she wrote her dissertation on Samuel Beckett's short prose. Her research interests center on the narrative and intersect with self-translation, epistolarity, the notion of literary space, and the art of everyday living.
Few things bring Elissa greater joy than working with dedicated students. She is delighted to have met so many at the RC! Her teaching interests include French grammar, French for reading knowledge, and modern French and Francophone literature and film.
