Graduate Student Seminar: "Agency, Materiality, and the Art of Writing History"
Featuring Walter Johnson (Winthrop Professor of History and Professor of African and African American Studies, Harvard University) and chaired by Adam Fulton Johnson (Ph.D. Student, History, University of Michigan).
The event is intended to serve as a graduate student discussion of Professor Johnson's book, River of Dark Dreams; attendees are expected to have read at least a portion of the book. The Eisenberg Institute has multiple copies of River of Dark Dreams, available for loan to history graduate students. Lunch provided.
This program is part of the Friday Workshop Series of the Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies. It is made possible by a generous contribution from Kenneth and Frances Aftel Eisenberg.
