Writer/producer Will Reiser grew up in Terrytown, NY where he went on to study writing at West Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts.
The film 50/50 is Reiser’s feature film debut and stars Joseph Gordon Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The genesis for the project came back in 2005 when Reiser was diagnosed with a serious form of cancer with an equally serious, and slightly unpronounceable, name. In short he had a rather large tumor on his spine. His experience with the disease and subsequent conversations with Rogen and Goldberg led to his decision to tackle the subject matter with Rogen and Goldberg coming on as producers. The film premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and at the London Film Festival to glowing reviews. Reiser continues to write and develop projects including Men for Todd Phillips, The Baghdad Country Club for HBO, and he’ll once again be drawing on his personal experiences for the Jamaica with Rogen and Goldberg once again coming on board as producers.
