    LACS cordially invites you to the Tinker Award Field Research Workshops to be held this Thursday and Friday. Please join us to learn about the preliminary research projects and field work that LACS students conducted throughout Latin America this past summer. These workshops are highly recommended for those of you interested in applying for a Tinker fellowship in the near future.

    12:00 to 1:30 pm – "Health and Population Policies in the Andes" 
    Panelists: Mirele Mann (Public Health), Kevin Boehnke (Public Health), and Steven Nelson (Public Policy)

    2:30 to 4:00 pm – "New Research Trends in Mexico" 
    Panelists: Senay Yitbarek (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology), Enrique Valdivia (School of Information), and Chelsea Fisher (Anthropology)

    12:00 to 1:30 pm – "Identity and Political Contestation in Colombia, Brazil, and Guatemala"
    Panelists: Diana Sierra Becerra (History and Women's Studies), Ana Silva (History), Jeffrey Swindle (Sociology), and James McNally (Musicology)

    2:30 to 4:00 pm – "Urban Reforms, Regional Planning and Population Control in Brazil and Mexico"
    Panelists: Pedro Cantisano (History), Nelida Escobedo (Romance Languages and Literatures), and Paige R. Andersson (Romance Languages and Literatures)
