Indonesian language lecturer Agustini received recognition this month from Vice Provost of Global and Engaged Education James Holloway and the University-wide Council of Global Engagement for her work in global education. For many summers, Agustini has taken students to Indonesia—a country to which many of them had never imagined they would travel—on Global Intercultural Experience for Undergraduates programs offered by the Center for Global and Intercultural Studies. She teaches all levels of Indonesian language and runs extra-curricular activities, such as film nights and potlucks, giving students multiple contexts in which to practice their language skills.
Agustini will be honored, along with other recipients, at the Council of Global Engagement annual celebration of International Education week.
