LSA faculty may apply for a BlueCorps Advisor to help create technology-based resources, plan for and assist in implementing new technology or a new pedagogical approach, and help the faculty develop technological expertise in the context of action-based courses. Recent LSA graduates, BlueCorps Advisors, work one-on-one with a small number of faculty members, providing direct assistance in the creation and implementation of new teaching materials/approaches.

BlueCorps Advisors can assist LSA faculty with:

  • Using CTools more effectively
  • Sympodium/ interactive pens
  • LectureCapture: Blue Review
  • Presentation software
  • Improving note-taking strategies
  • Clickers
  • Lecture tools
  • Video clips
  • Screencasts
  • Online Office Hours/ Hangouts
  • CrowdSourcing information in courses with Piazza
  • Engaging students in large lecture courses
  • ePortfolio
  • Document cameras

BlueCorps Advisors will supplement existing support staff by providing course specific on-site, in-class support during the most critical –and often the most challenging—points of a project, including initial pilot, student course evaluation, and improvement cycles.    A BlueCorps Advisor/Assistant may be used in conjunction with any other grant funding or project.
