BA in French and Art History from Swarthmore; MA in French Literature from University of Michigan; PhD candidate in French Literature. Fulbright to teach English in France. Twelve years teaching experience as French TA, high school teacher at Friends School in Baltimore and Detroit Country Day. Leader of high school trips to France. Extensive experience with international students and study abroad programs. Former chair of Michigan Association of Foreign Student Affairs. Former advisor for UM Office of International Programs. Before that she was an overseas opportunity advisor in the International Center. Susan has been a full-time SAA general advisor since July 1999. During the fall of 1999 and 2000, Susan also taught introductory French at the Residential College. She is still active in the study abroad field, in particular in regards to women's issues abroad. Member of the Foreign Language Waiver Committee and the Professional Development Committee. Susan is an Associate Director overseeing daily operations, training and professional development, and pre-professional advising. UM SD 9/7/95.
