Doctoral Student in English and Women's Studies
I received an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Ohio State (2010) and a B.A. in English and Political Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn (2006). My fiction, essays, and articles appear in Humanity & Society, Third Coast Literary Magazine, Live Science, Staccato Fiction, and Flashquake. I'm interested in Arab diaspora studies, U.S. Ethnic and Postcolonial Literature, Women's Studies, Narrative Theory, and Life Writing studies. More specifically, I'm interested in understanding the role oral histories play in documenting, defining, and analyzing Arab diasporic communities; exploring the multivocal, interdisciplinary forms of Arab women’s writing; tracing the genealogy of Arab American community activism; and identifying Arab American aesthetics.
