Summer Work Opportunity for 2014 (Applications due 9/30/13)

Telluride Association is now accepting applications for the positions of:

·         Tutor at its 2014 sophomore seminars for high school students at Indiana University, and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and

·         Factotum at its 2014 summer programs for high school juniors at Cornell University and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

The Telluride Association Sophomore Seminars (TASS for short) provide college-level academic seminar experiences for promising high school sophomores from all over the United States and abroad.  The job of the tutor combines the roles of program organizer, teaching assistant, and counselor.  Tutors are responsible for planning and supervising the academic and recreational activities of a group of 16-18 high school students over course of the six-week program.

The Telluride Association Summer Programs (TASP for short) provide college-level academic seminar experiences for promising high school juniors from all over the United States and abroad.  The job of the factotum combines the roles of program organizer, teaching assistant, and counselor.  Factota are responsible for planning and supervising the academic and recreational activities of a group of 16-18 high school students over course of the six-week program.

The salary for these positions will be approximately $4,575.  Desired qualifications include the following:

·         Excellent organizational and time management skills;

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

·         Strong academic record;

·         Experience working with teens and/or children;

·         Age 20 or older and current student at one of the host institutions as listed above;

·         No other work or study commitments from June 18 - August 3, 2014; and 

·         Available for training session in late spring
