  • About

Hi everyone, I am Sook-Peng How. People call me “Peng”. I appreciate your time getting to know me.

I am the Chair for the Budget Allocation Committee (BAC), in which my main responsibility is to best allocate funding to various student groups. My goals as the Chair for LSA BAC are to make the internal funding allocation system more effective and to make the funding application easier for student leaders. This semester, my committee is also introducing a two-cycle funding system to best meet the interests of various student organizations. We have also successfully removing the C-tools system within BAC Cycle. On top of that, we are introducing an online database system that allows student organizations to effectively check their funding award status within google. I have coded these funding application and database personally, and if you have any suggestions on how to make it better, I encourage you reaching out to me. Kindly visit the BAC Page if you are interested to apply to be part of LSA BAC or to apply for student groups funding.

I am also the Elected Representative for LSA SG. This semester, I am actively involved in three committees that are Student Life Committee, Communication and TREES. I support Green Initiative and Equal Opportunities. My goal for this semester is to outreach to many student groups and address students’ concerns. Specifically, I am working on getting a vending machine in our undergraduate library (Ugli) and communicating with school officials regarding the increase of printing pages for LSA Students.

Besides, I am also the Student Organization Support Consultant who works directly under the Center for Campus Involvement (CCI). I  work with CCI to develop various leaderships programs and workshops for student groups.

On top of that, I am appointed by LSA SG to serve on the Office of Provost, Student Budget Advisory Committee. It is my passion to talk to you about the University’s budget model, sources of revenue, and expenditure patterns.

I continually seek for feedbacks and improvement opportunity. Kindly send me an email at hspeng@umich.edu if you have any questions. Thank you.
