The newly released “Publication Book UMich” Content Type is a complete revision of the original “Publication UMich” Content Type. In addition to changing the way the publication information is displayed on People records, the web team has added functionality to allow users to create a Publications Channel that can automatically pull information onto the page using a query component (such as all titles by a certain author, or by research area), and also allows for the addition of the information through a region configurator, like any other content.
In addition to these features, the publication content type will also be utilized on the MAIN LSA site to create a comprehensive display of publications for the entire college. Some good examples of this can be seen on The Ross School of Business website (Articles by Different disciplines and Faculty Books) where they actively promote Faculty publications. In order to take advantage of this and promote Faculty publications on the Main LSA site, all publication information needs to be entered utilizing the new Publication Book UMich Content Type
Beginning in mid-July, Web Services will offer a two-hour hands-on workshop, similar to the rest of our training sessions. Workshop dates are listed here. Please be sure to register for an upcoming workshop to find out how to promote your faculty publications.
The location for the workshops will be determined by the end of June. Depending upon size, we will either be in our new collaboration space on the sixth floor of Haven Hall or at the LSA-ISS Media Center, located in the Modern Language Building.
