The intersection of 20th- and 21st-Century Francophone African immigrant literature, culture, and fashion.
My primary research interest resides in the intersection of 20th- and 21st-Century Francophone African immigrant literature, culture, and fashion. My dissertation reflects this junction of interests, exploring clothing’s influence on visualizations of black men’s masculinity and agency in Paris and Brussels through literature, photography, and film.
Additional research interests of mine include Postcolonial Studies, Contemporary Francophone African youth cultures and cultural production, visualizations of race and blackness across the African Diaspora, and expressive cultures.
