Department Chair David Lam Presenting at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium, Aug. 21-23, 2014
On August 22, Department Chair David Lam will be presenting on "The Demography of the Labor Force in Emerging Markets" at the annual Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium.
Each year since 1978, the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City has sponsored a symposium on an important economic issue facing the U.S. and world economies. The event is designed as a forum for central bankers, policy experts and academics to come together to focus on a topic that is not necessarily of immediate concern, but instead looks into the future at emerging issues and trends.
This year participants will convene to discuss the economic issues, implications, and policy options pertaining to the topic of "Re-Evaluating Labor Market Dynamics." Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen is slated to give a much-anticipated opening address on "Labor Markets" on Friday morning. Other symposium participants include prominent central bankers, finance ministers, academics, and financial market participants from around the world.
