    This event celebrates the artistic circles and compositions of American composers Virgil Thomson, Aaron Copland, Ned Rorem, David Diamond, John Cage, and David Del Tredici. U-M Professor Nadine Hubbs (Women’s Studies, Music, American Culture) will provide commentary, based on her book The Queer Composition of America’s Sound: Gay Modernists, American Music, and National Identity. Performers will include SMTD students and faculty, featuring Jennifer Goeltz (soprano), Matthew Leslie Santana (violin), Jean-Bernard Cerin (baritone), and special guest pianist, Adam Tendler.
