  • Description:

Increasing interest in non-elites and domestic behaviors has meant a need for new methods to examine old materials. The functional analysis of Roman ceramics, including the study of wear (the traces of how people actually used their pottery) can provide insight into how and what ancient users were cooking and consuming, and into questions of ceramic consumption, use-life, and discard in the Roman world.

FAST lectures are organized by students in the Interdepartmental Program in Classical Art and Archaeology.
