    Research interests

Dr. Denver’s research is on the hormonal control of postembryonic development. He is particularly interested in understanding the evolution of adaptive phenotypic plasticity. A primary focus is on molecular and developmental processes that underlie developmental responses to environmental change (e.g., plasticity in the timing of amphibian metamorphosis). A related goal is to develop a mechanistic basis for understanding how early life experience affects adult phenotypic expression and fitness in vertebrates. Our research is multidisciplinary, spanning cellular and molecular biology, neurobiology, development, ecology and evolution.
