  • About

My research explores 20th century African American and Latino/a history, with a focus on social movements in the postwar urban north. More specifically, my dissertation, under the direction of Matthew Countryman, is a comparative multiracial study of Boston’s African American and Latino communities over the span of two decades in the “post civil rights era.” Utilizing a “bottom up” perspective, I examine the history of racial politics and black-brown grassroots movements for racial justice in the city from 1965 to 1985.
