1029 Tisch Hall, Ann Arbor MI, 48109-1003
I work with Professor Matthew Countryman and my research examines 20th century African American and Latino/a history, with a focus on politics, social movements and community-based activism in the urban north. My dissertation will examine the history of black-brown social movements in Boston during the 1960s and 1970s. In addition to studying civil rights, Black Power, and grassroots movements, I am also interested in gender/women’s history, black and Latina feminisms, comparative studies of race and ethnicity, and African American/Diaspora studies.
