The students in the four Women’s Studies joint PhD programs at Michigan come from around the world: South Africa, India, China, South America, Canada, and the United States. When they leave here, some return home to take up positions in universities as far away from Ann Arbor as the University of KwaZulu–Natal in South Africa and as close as Wayne State University, Michigan State University and the University of Michigan itself.
