David Caron is Professor of French and Women's Studies. His latest book, My Father and I: The Marais and the Queerness of Community, focuses on the questions of community and universalism. It deals with issues such as the engagement of urban spaces by minoritized groups, the intersections of the public and the private, representations of collective disasters (AIDS, the Holocaust), masculinity, the concepts of neighborhood and family, etc. He has recently edited a collection of essays on Charlotte Delbo and completed a book manuscript entitled Sharing HIV: Tact, Contact, and Disclosure.
