Undergraduate Programs
I can’t imagine what the past three years at the University of Michigan would have been like for me had I not decided to major in Women’s Studies. In the department, I have found a place where I am constantly supported and challenged by my peers and the faculty. The Women’s Studies courses that I have taken have allowed me to grow as an individual and have inspired me to pursue a degree in public interest law so that I can continue my work to improve our communities. When I visit professors and advisors in the department, I am always impressed at how interested they are in my life and at their eager and enthusiastic willingness to help me achieve my goals. Over the years, I have been put in contact with several Women’s Studies alumni to help me find summer internships in Washington, D.C. and to find a law school that will fit my needs. I have found that the faculty, staff, students and alumni of this program are incredibly dedicated to each other and to the issues of social justice. Together, they have created an environment that has made my time at the University of Michigan invaluable.
