Enforced Prerequisites:
SPANISH 230 or 232 with a grade of C- or higher; RCLANG 294 or 314; or assignment of SPANISH 277 or SPANISH 275 by placement test.
Advisory Prerequisites:
Students who receive transfer credit for SPANISH 232 and wish to continue with their language study are strongly encouraged to take the Spanish placement exam to be certain that they are prepared for SPANISH 277.

SPANISH 277 is the prerequisite for a minor or major in Spanish.
May not be repeated for credit.
Primary Instructor:

SPANISH 277 combines an introduction to the study of literature in Spanish with an advanced review of grammar.

Course Requirements:

Graded work includes homework assignments that combine grammar and literary analysis, in-class participation, an oral presentation and a final argumentative essay.

Class Format:

This course will meet three hours a week, with one additional hour of individual study on-line. The course will focus on reading short stories in Spanish and learning to write analytic essays. However, the grammatical content will be taught in an on-line format, with points of grammar linked to materials taught and discussed in class.
