Description

In this course, students are expected to achieve control of the sound system (especially the 4 tones), basic sentence patterns, aural comprehension, daily conversations and writing characters. 374 characters will be introduced in this course.

Textbooks: Integrated Chinese (Level One, Part I) — Textbook, Workbook, Character Workbook (all in Simplified Character Edition).

Course Requirements:

There are regular quizzes, homework assignments, in-class exercises, oral presentations, and exams in this course.

Intended Audience:

ASIANLAN 101 is an introductory course for students who do not understand or speak any Chinese. (If you a heritage learner, the right beginning course for you is ASIANLAN 104 First Year Chinese for Mandarin Speakers.)

Class Format:

Students have class one hour per day.
