Third year proficiency in Chinese or permission of instructor.

This course introduces business terms and expressions with the goal of developing communicative skills in business related situations. In addition, instruction includes information and knowledge about business practices, etiquettes, interpersonal relationships and other social political and cultural aspects of Chinese business world. Activities and assignments, such as presentations and case studies, are designed to facilitate actual language use in the real business world as well as further studies for this special purpose. By the end of the semester, students are expected to be equipped with the language skills to function more comfortably and confidently in real business settings; to have higher cultural awareness about the Chinese business world and to have improved listening comprehension of Chinese business reports and interviews.
