Primary Instructor:

In this course we will explore the cultural importance of French Comics in France and analyze the form (the art and the text) around various themes (French history, French politics, Relationships).

Students will be reading and reacting to a variety of French Comic books throughout the semester, in addition to reflecting on their cultural significance (two books will be ordered online).

Course Requirements:

Assignments: readings and videos; vocabulary, grammar and content quizzes; in-class writings and journals; speaking evaluations (powerpoint presentation with a partner, individual end-of-semester evaluation); tests and final exam.

We will be using Sequence (the book used in French 231) for grammar explanations and activities.
