Primary Instructor:

Slavic Minicourses are intended to introduce a specific area of Slavic studies to a general student audience. Sections of this course will present a wide range of topics in the broad context of Slavic cultural, literary, and linguistic studies. The courses will introduce basic concepts and analytical techniques, and will enable students to gain in-depth knowledge of specific, clearly defined topics (for example, of a body of texts by one author; of a particular cultural-historical moment, cultural movement, or contemporary issue).

Course Requirements:

Students will be required to attend classes, complete reading and other out-of-class assignments, to submit regular commentaries on materials, and to write a final paper.

Intended Audience:

General undergraduate audience. The course will be taught in a way that should appeal to as broad a constituency as possible.

Class Format:

A mixture of informal lectures and discussion.
