This interdisciplinary course introduces students to the study of race and gender in various cultural contexts. We explore colonialism and postcolonialism, incarceration, migration, law, and popular culture, among many other topics. Although some examples focus on the United States, the course broadly engages cultures and cultural difference.

Course requirements include short writing assignments, presentations, and papers.

First and second year students interested in gender, race, and global issues
Class Format:
This online class will include both synchronous and asynchronous elements, but students will generally be expected to attend class at its scheduled time. There will be no exams.
