At this moment in US and world history, more and more people are questioning the order of things, the way governments are run, the nature of capitalism, the increasing inequality within countries and between countries, and the rise of right-wing authoritarian regimes. Democracy itself appears threatened; science and facts are doubted; the crisis of the environment continues. Are there answers, "out-of-the-box" alternatives, to the liberal-conservative consensus that dominates our current discourses about politics? This course is about questioning the way our world is working today and seeks alternatives.
