Continuation of RUSSIAN 301. During the course students will continue to work on the development of all language skills. Films will be an integral part of this course. The general at home viewing will be followed up by class discussion, film analysis and watching particular scenes in class/or as homework. While the course's main purpose is the development of students' oral proficiency, it also includes texts for reading comprehension and exercises that focus on acquisition of written skills and grammatical accuracy. Students will continue to work on the expansion of both passive and active vocabulary.Students are expected to participate in all class discussions, present on political and cultural topics during the semester, take vocabulary quizzes and write film essays.

Class Format:

Most components of this course will be synchronous, including class material presentations, class/group work and discussions. There will be some asynchronous online components, such as movie viewing and material for homework assignments.

Testing for this course will be synchronous and asynchronous. It will consist of in-class oral presentations, quizzes, tests and essays. All quizzes and tests will be submitted via Canvas at the end of class session. Essays will be submitted via Canvas during a designated time frame.

This course will use Canvas for all asynchronous online components. All synchronous meetings with the instructor will be conducted through BlueJeans (although other options are being considered, such as Zoom and Discord). Students should have access to a camera and microphone.
