Description

This course introduces the study of gender and the media in contemporary U.S. popular culture. It provides you with tools and strategies to critically assess how creative industries engage with ideas about gender and its intersections with sexuality, race, and class. From fashion ads and Instagram feeds to rom-coms, memes, and music videos, we apply concepts and theories to wide-ranging representations.
