During this class, we will learn an empathic, healing, and constructive journalistic approach to the lives of those whom society treats as the other. We will use trauma and human rights reporting techniques that always consider the consequences, context, and structural causes of the social and justice topics we will discuss in class. We will interview and write stories about our own community to learn and make connections with people that are considered the other.
