Description

BIOLOGY 172 is a one-term introductory course in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology that imparts factual and conceptual knowledge on how cells, organs, and organisms work. One of its goal is to help students develop scientific hypothesis-testing, critical-thinking and writing skills. BIOLOGY 172 is part of a two-semester introductory unit that includes BIOLOGY 171 and 173.

Course Requirements:

Grading is based on exam performance, discussion exercise homework and class participation.

Intended Audience:

Bio. 172.005 is reserved for students in the Comprehensive Studies Program (CSP). Please visit the CSP website for more information (lsa.umich.edu/csp/current-students/courses.html).

Lecture 005 is intended for students who are willing to commit to extra time and effort to succeed in Biology 172.
