Description

Extreme weather patterns, earthquakes, tsunamis, rising sea levels, drinkable water shortages, sustainable energy solutions, demographic transformations, and a growing garbage disposal crisis are some commonly discussed issues in contemporary Asia. In this course, we will take a closer look at the ways in which these issues have shaped and continue to shape Asia and also try to develop a better understanding of the interrelatedness of these issues. Requirements for this course include assigned readings, in-class presentations and discussion, and two short reflection papers.
