Student Research Activities

University of Michigan Undergraduate Research Forum
UMURF is a student-run, non-technical research journal that is peer-edited and faculty-reviewed, and appears in both electronic and print versions. UMURF publishes articles in all fields of research including a paper on an evolutionary topic in the Fall 2005 issue.

Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP)
UROP provides a hands-on learning experience for first and second year students through research partnerships with faculty in all academic fields and disciplines. Students develop research and academic skills through faculty mentors, research work, research seminars, skill building workshops and peer advising. While admission is open to all UM students, UROP continues to work toward improving the retention and academic achievement of underrepresented students and to support women in science and engineering.

UROP’s annual Research Symposium will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at the Michigan League. Students participating in research in the evolutionary sciences will present posters on their work in a special section of the symposium from 1:30-4:30.
