The sanctuary of Mên was located 3.5 kilometers southeastward of Antioch on the limestone hill named Kara Kuyu (“Black Well”). The elevated view from Kara Kuyu would have reminded the worshipper of the sanctuary’s distance from the city and its natural surroundings.
