Uwem Akpan '06 published his debut collection of stories, Say You're One of Them, with Little, Brown. It was the first collection of short stories to be selected for Oprah's Book Club.

Victoria Chang '92 published Salvinia Molesta, her second collection of poetry.

Darcie Dennigan '02 published Corinna A-Maying the Apocalypse. The manuscript won the 2006-2007 Fordham University Press Poets Out Loud Prize.

Joshua Edwards '07 was selected for a Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University.

Donovan Hohn '05 was selected for a 2008 Whiting Writers' Award.

Laura Kasischke '87 had her novel The Life Before Her Eyes adapted to film.

Raymond McDaniel '95 published Saltwater Empire, his second collection of poetry, through Coffee House Press.

Karyna McGlynn '07 had a new chapbook, Alabama Steve, published by Destructible Heart Press.

Paula McLain '96 published her debut novel, A Ticket to Ride, with Ecco.

Preeta Samarasan '06 published her debut novel, Evening Is the Whole Day, with Houghton Mifflin.

Greg Schutz '07 was selected for a Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown Fellowship.

Porter Shreve '98 published a new novel, When the White House Was Ours, with Mariner Books.

Jesmyn Ward '05 published her first book, Where the Line Bleeds, with Agate Bolden.
