Global Scholars Program

Welcome to GSP!

One World. One Community.

The Global Scholars Program (GSP) prepares sophomore, junior, and senior University of Michigan students to be interculturally responsive global citizens, champions for meaningful change, and innovative leaders of tomorrow.

Global Scholars are from all over the United States and all around the world. They live together in North Quad, take a class together each semester, and join in weekly activities and social & cultural events planned by student leaders and the staff.

Global Scholars learn about critical global issues through facilitated lectures, small-group dialogues, and collaborative group experiences that include project-based learning with a partner NGO. These are all ways we learn from and value each other’s knowledge, perspectives, and lived experiences and put that learning into practice.

Wherever you’re from, GSP is a community where you can show up as your authentic self, make meaningful relationships in a supportive environment, develop and hone your cross-cultural communication skills, and find a sense of belonging in a globally diverse community.

GSP Info Session and Panel – hosted by the GSP RA's

Are you wondering what it's like to be a Global Scholar? On March 18, 2021 the GSP RA's hosted an information session with a panel discussion with GSP Alum Brigitte Smith and GSP members Samir Agarwala and Erik Anderson. Watch to learn about first hand experiences of living in a global community that is home to students of over 30 different nationalities. Our panel will also consider what being a member of GSP has been like during the COVID-19 pandemic.
