Aswin Punathambekar

Aswin Punathambekar is Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. He is the author of Looking L.A., Talking Bombay: Globalization and the Making of Bollywood (NYU Press, forthcoming), co-editor of Television at Large: South Asian History and Culture after Television (Routledge, forthcoming), and co-editor of Global Bollywood (NYU Press, 2008). He also writes about participation surrounding media and popular culture in South Asia and the South Asian diaspora. His articles on these and other topics appear in Biblio, International Journal of Cultural Studies, Media Culture & Society, Popular Communication, and BioScope: South Asian Screen Studies.
