About
Hello there! My name is Noah, and I'm a transfer student from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. I transferred to the University of Michigan in Fall 2022 and plan to graduate in winter 2025. I'm from a small town just south of Kalamazoo, Michigan, called Vicksburg. Major wise, I'm a psychology major with a minor in inter-group relations education. My love for psychology resulted in me working at an adult foster care home over the past two summers, which made me passionate about helping people with mental disorders. After graduating, I hope to pursue an MA and Psy.D. in graduate school and eventually practice clinical psychology.
I started UROP my sophomore year due to wanting actual experience working in a laboratory. Outside of my lab, I found that UROP provided me with training and guidance to excel as a novice researcher. Now, I am excited to help new UROP members navigate their goals and research projects. If I had to pick one thing I love about UROP, it would be the support I received from my peer facilitator last year, as it was invaluable to making me feel welcome as a transfer student.
In regards to hobbies, you'll find out quickly through the many quotes I use that I love Star Wars, so much so that I own three lightsabers and a costume or two. When I am not talking about Star Wars, I also enjoy biking, reading, playing the trombone, building computers, and video games. I'm also involved in the Global Scholars Program as a dialogue facilitator.
A favorite place of mine off campus is a lake near my house. I have countless memories of me and my friends tubing, swimming, and having karaoke nights at my friend's house. On campus, I love the Arb. Stressed or not, I try to take a walk through it once a week.
